Marius Voineag, the chief prosecutor of the DNA, stated that legislative instability is the greatest threat to the effectiveness of anti-corruption prosecutors' work, emphasizing that the lack of a quick response from Parliament to the decisions of the Constitutional Court has led to the prescription of hundreds of corruption cases. In his mandate report, Voineag mentioned cooperation that fell short of expectations with other institutions and criticized the excessive politicization of debates about justice. Voineag highlighted the achievements during his term, such as the decrease in acquittal rates and the increase in seized assets. In 2025, the DNA registered 2,599 new cases, with a significant number of individuals sent to trial for high-level corruption. He also emphasized the importance of recovering assets obtained through corruption, mentioning that in 2025, assets worth nearly 254 million lei were seized.
