A 52-year-old man has been remanded in custody after threatening three policemen with a knife in the Old Center of Bucharest.

The man was caught after a traffic chase, during which police say the assailant tried to hit another car to escape. In the case of the man, who was known to have criminal preoccupations, the machine indicated the possible presence of psychoactive substances, the capital's police said.
