A man from Arad has been detained by police officers for defrauding a 77-year-old woman of over 2 million lei.

<p>The 37-year-old man misled an elderly woman by pretending to be a civil servant in the ANAF, a police officer or a lawyer. He managed to obtain large sums of money and two cars from the victim, causing her more than 2,000,000 lei in damages. Following investigations, the man was arrested and is to be brought before a judge on remand.
