The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) announced that, during the holiday period, police discovered lethal weapons and drugs in the packages sent. Two men were apprehended in Bistrița-Năsăud County after picking up a package from Spain, which contained two lethal long guns, a silencer, and a night vision device.

MAI emphasized, in an ironic post, that surprises in packages are becoming increasingly creative, mentioning that in previous years only ordinary gifts were found. Representatives of the ministry urged citizens to avoid sending illegal items, recommending simple gifts such as sweet bread or socks, and warning that sending weapons or drugs can lead to criminal charges.
