A work scandal has erupted at the Maternity Hospital of the County Hospital in Oradea, where Dr. Alexandra Gociu, head of the ICU department, is accused of abusive behavior. The incident occurred in April 2024, when Gociu insulted nurse Cosmina Cîmpan in front of a patient, using derogatory language. The complaint filed by Cîmpan was supported by testimonies and an audio recording, confirmed by prosecutors. Although initially the prosecutor dropped the criminal charges, the judge requested the case to be reopened, emphasizing the importance of protecting social relationships in the workplace.
Following the scandal, Gociu requested the sanctioning of the nurse, who was temporarily transferred to another department. Cîmpan, constituted as the injured party, is seeking moral damages of 50,000 lei. The trial will begin on February 26, and the nurse's lawyer emphasizes the need to deter humiliation in the workplace. Dr. Gociu refused to comment on the allegations.
