Ion Tiriac, former great tennis player and successful entrepreneur, is ranked 2nd in Forbes' list of the richest Romanians, with an estimated fortune of 2.3 billion dollars. At nearly 87 years old, he is preparing to retire from business, mentioning that he will reduce his working hours from '28 hours' to '24 a day'.
Tiriac will leave the businesses in the care of his son, Ion Alexandru Tiriac, and will continue his active lifestyle, traveling. Although he is no longer interested in business, he emphasizes that he deserves a pension from the Romanian state, considering that he was a 'millionaire' for 20 years.
The billionaire expresses disappointment that he has remained without the Order of Labor Class I, which he won for outstanding merits in sports activity. Tiriac reflects on the changes in his life and the issues that come with age, but remains optimistic about the future.
