The Competition Council imposed total fines of 14.73 million lei (approximately 2.9 million euros) on 27 companies involved in anti-competitive agreements in the market for vehicle maintenance and repair services in Romania. Among them is businessman Ion Țiriac, along with the insurance companies Gothaer (now Allianz-Țiriac) and Uniqa, which were fined 6.7 million lei.

The investigation was initiated following a leniency request from a company, and all 27 entities involved admitted their wrongdoing, benefiting from reduced penalties. The authority found that these companies coordinated labor rates and spare parts prices, thus eliminating competition. The Council's decisions are enforceable, and the fines will be collected by ANAF.
