On January 13, the Prime Minister of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, had a meeting with a delegation from Wizz Air, led by CEO József Váradi, to discuss the evolution of the aviation industry in Eastern Europe and the company's development prospects in Romania.
Meanwhile, at the airport in Craiova, an incident occurred when Wizz Air replaced an aircraft with a smaller one, creating an overbooking situation. Two passengers who did not have seats sneaked onto the plane but were removed by the police after causing a disturbance. They were fined for their behavior.
Passengers requested the intervention of the Consumer Protection Agency, but the Prime Minister mentioned that the ANPC staff may be reduced. The ANPC had previously received frequent complaints against Wizz Air, including a fine of 60,000 lei for canceled flights.
