The Young People's Party (POT), led by Ana-Maria Gavrilă, has asked the Romanian authorities to initiate legal action against Pfizer to recover the amounts paid for COVID vaccines. In a statement on April 16, POT emphasizes the need to protect both the financial interests of the state and those of the citizens.
The party also proposes the establishment of a monthly compensation of 1,200 euros net for Romanians affected by the adverse effects of the vaccines, a compensation that should be covered by Pfizer. Ana-Maria Gavrilă stated that Romania must adopt a firm stance against pharmaceutical companies, drawing inspiration from examples of leaders who have strongly defended national interests. She emphasized that the financial responsibility should not fall on taxpayers, but on the producer, and called for a similar approach for all companies with which the state has had contracts for vaccines.
