Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) has announced that Hoellerer will replace Johann Strobl as CEO in July 2026. Strobl, who has led the bank since March 2017, will remain in office until the end of his term, resigning from the Board of Directors in February 2027. This change comes in the context of the restructuring of the RBI Board of Directors, which is seeking to sell a stake in its subsidiary in Russia, in hopes of lifting the restrictions that block the repatriation of profits. RBI is under pressure from the US and EU to reduce its activities in Russia, where its division is a major creditor. Additionally, RBI has announced the extension of the mandate of Chief Information Officer Andreas Gschwenter for three years. Hoellerer, former CFO of RBI, will also take on responsibility for the bank's retail division.
