The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced that almost 50% of disability certificates are unjustified or false.

Alexandru Rogobete, the Minister of Health, stated that almost half of the disability certificates currently in payment are unjustified or false, which requires urgent measures. He emphasized that a legislative and administrative breach has led to an uncontrolled expansion of the number of certificates, many of which have been issued without a rigorous evaluation. The Minister highlighted the seriousness of the situation, considering that these certificates are signed by doctors and evaluation committees.

Rogobete mentioned that the measures adopted to combat fictitious medical leave have led to significant savings, of approximately 120 million lei per month, which have been redirected to the healthcare system. Due to these savings, the health budget has been supplemented, and pharmacies have no debts for the first time in the last 10 years.
