Sorin Grindeanu, the president of PSD, emphasized on Sunday the importance of reform in administration, stating that it should aim to improve services for Romanians, not mass layoffs.
Grindeanu declared that simply reducing the number of employees does not represent a real reform, but rather an action that does not bring benefits to citizens. He proposed that the reform should include the merging of administrative-territorial units (UATs) and the digitization of public services, emphasizing that these measures are essential to ensure decent public services. Grindeanu criticized the attitude of those who rejoice in layoffs, considering it a "satisfaction hard to understand" and stressed that the reform should be oriented towards the needs of citizens, not towards reducing salaries and jobs.
