The government meeting approved measures to protect Romanian consumers and farmers. The cap on the trade surcharge on staple foods will remain in force until September 30, 2025, with the aim of supporting the purchasing power of Romanians with low and medium incomes. It also maintains the obligation to license imports of products from Ukraine until December 31, 2025, in order to protect Romanian farmers. The minister urged processors to work with local farmers.
