A gas pipeline failure in Craiova led to the evacuation of 30 people and the diversion of traffic.

A gas leak in an underground pipeline on Nicolae Romanescu Boulevard in Craiova prompted the intervention of firefighters and police on Thursday evening.

Thirty people were evacuated from six homes, and traffic was diverted to adjacent streets. The Dolj Emergency Situations Inspectorate mobilized a fire truck, a CBRN vehicle, and a SMURD ambulance to manage the situation. The gas distributor was notified and stopped the supply from the central valve. Firefighters established a safety perimeter, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
