On Friday, Florin Salam was heard at DIICOT as a witness in a case opened in February, which investigates a group accused of human trafficking and pimping, using a club in Bucharest as a front.
The artist was called to provide relevant information for the investigation, after last week the singer Tzancă Uraganu was heard in the same context. The prosecutors' operation in February uncovered a network led by the club owner, who obtained over 19 million lei from illegal activities.
The group recruited young women through false job advertisements as dancers, subsequently forcing them into prostitution. The victims, often with poor education and without family support, were strictly controlled, and the group had a system for tracking clients and penalties for those who did not meet the requirements.
Among those involved in the case is also actor Vlad Marinescu, and 'The Buddhist' Club has been the subject of several controversies in the past, being accused of operating illegally.
