Representatives of the National Railway Federation Mișcare Comercial Vagoane have issued a press release drawing attention to a critical financial situation in the railway sector, warning that, without urgent resolution, "the stopping of trains will become a reality".

According to them, CFR SA has notified operators about the possible suspension of some trains due to non-payment of TUI, in the context where state funding has been blocked for almost two months. Union representatives emphasize that this situation is caused by the delay in approving budgets and necessary documents, affecting resources for essential public services such as energy, fuel, and maintenance.

In this "vicious circle", both public and private operators are facing a lack of liquidity, which endangers the payment of salaries and the functioning of infrastructure. The Federation is calling for the urgent unblocking of funding mechanisms to ensure the continuity of public railway service.
