A man posed as a police officer and extorted a driver, demanding 55,000 lei to get him out of a criminal case.

The defendant P.D.V. claimed to be a police officer and demanded 55,631 lei to intervene in the resolution of a criminal case related to a traffic accident. He received 52,086 lei from the victim, promising the dismissal of the case and the recovery of the driving license. After admitting the act, he accepted a sentence of 4 years in prison and the prohibition of certain rights. The DNA has imposed a seizure on the amount for confiscation. The case has been sent to the Sibiu Tribunal for trial.
