Two F-16 aircraft took off from Base 86 Fetești to monitor the border with Ukraine, following Russian attacks in the Danube area and the incursion of a drone into Romanian airspace, according to the Ministry of National Defense.

On September 13, the Ministry of National Defense announced that two F-16 aircraft from the 86th Air Base in Fetești were sent to monitor the air situation at the border with Ukraine, following Russian airstrikes. During the mission, the aircraft detected a drone in Romanian airspace, which they tracked until it disappeared from radar. The drone did not pose a threat to the population, and the situation is still being monitored by the radar systems of the Ministry of National Defense.
