On the night from Monday to Tuesday, an explosion occurred aboard the oil tanker Gas Lisbon, located in the Black Sea, approximately 40 kilometers from Sfântu Gheorghe, while heading towards Sulina.

The vessel was carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and, according to the Naval Forces, there are suspicions that the explosion may have been caused by a naval mine, although this information is not confirmed. The ARSVOM vessels quickly intervened to rescue the crew, managing to bring ashore the 17 people on board, three of whom suffered minor injuries.

A navigation alert was issued, stating that the ship is on fire and there is a danger of explosion, with the fire manifesting in the stern-castle area. All nearby vessels were warned to maintain a distance of at least three nautical miles, and authorities remain on alert due to the risks of pollution.
