All 12 elevators in the CFR Palace, the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport, are still non-functional two weeks after a technical incident during which one of the elevators reportedly got stuck and suffered a serious malfunction during use.

Following the incident, two people suffered fractures, and three others required medical attention, being transported to the hospital for evaluation. After the event, all elevators in the building were shut down for technical checks and safety assessments to prevent other possible incidents.

The measure has affected the daily activities of employees, who are forced to use the stairs, including for access to the upper floors of the building. The situation is particularly challenging for those working on the upper floors and for those with reduced mobility.

The authorities have not yet provided a clear timeline for the restoration of the elevators, as technical checks are still ongoing. Additionally, no official conclusions have been communicated regarding the exact cause of the incident.
