A ship sank in Midia Port / One person has been declared dead, and four others missing are presumed dead - UPDATE

A ship sank on Wednesday in Dana 1 of the Midia Port, while five people were on board. One crew member died after resuscitation efforts failed, while representatives of the Romanian Naval Authority stated that the four missing persons may also have died.

According to Info Sud-Est information, the tugboat ASTANA, flying the Romanian flag, sank in the BUOY MMT area of Midia port about 4 nautical miles southeast of the entrance to Midia port.

A person who was brought to the shore and resuscitated for an hour by medical teams was declared dead.

The Dobrogea Emergency Situations Inspectorate was notified of the incident and quickly mobilized the necessary resources.

At the scene, there is a Mobile Intensive Care Unit crew, a SMURD helicopter, a SMURD B crew, a fire truck, a boat, and a diving team, as well as three ambulances from the County Service. Rescue operations are underway, and the authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
