In Giurgiu County, eleven people aged between 20 and 37 have been detained for fraud and money laundering. They are suspected of having misled several victims from March 2023 to the present, requesting advances for services they did not provide, causing an estimated damage of 3 million lei.

On May 5, the police of the Criminal Investigation Service carried out nine home searches in the municipality of Giurgiu, under the coordination of the case prosecutor, where they discovered and seized items of evidential value, including approximately 70,000 lei, mobile phones, bank cards, jewelry, and watches. In total, 27 people were taken to the police headquarters based on summonses to be heard in connection with these crimes.
