The Israeli group Elbit Systems inaugurated the Simultec factory on Monday, located near Bucharest, marking a significant expansion in the local market. The new facility is dedicated to the production of components for the unmanned aerial systems of the Watchkeeper XR type, including those ordered by the Ministry of National Defense (MApN).

Simultec operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems, thus strengthening the group's presence in Romania, where it also operates through other entities such as AE Electronics and Elmet. With this inauguration, Elbit reaches a total of seven production units in Romania, including locations in Măgurele, Brașov, and Bacău. Uri Maman, a representative of Elbit Systems, mentioned that there are plans to expand production capacity, already having the necessary space for future developments.

Also, during the launch event, the first test flight in Romania of the unmanned aerial systems intended for the army took place, highlighting the progress of the equipping program.
