A rescue mission took place in Maramureș, where a young Ukrainian was found after crossing the border alone and in precarious conditions. The Salvamont Maramureș crew initially tried to reach him with snowmobiles, but heavy snowfall and falling trees forced the suspension of the mission. With temperatures felt as low as -27 degrees, the rescuers decided to access the area on foot, equipped with medical equipment. After 24 hours of searching, the young man was found in an abandoned barn, where he had taken shelter. A weather window allowed for helicopter evacuation, and the rescuers managed to complete the mission after 30 hours of intense efforts, successfully saving a life.
