Alina Gorghiu, the chairwoman of the special committee for the prevention of domestic violence, announced the submission of a draft law that amends the Audiovisual Law, allowing the National Audiovisual Council (CNA) to recommend the broadcasting of public interest campaigns. Currently, the law limits these recommendations only to spots about drugs and human trafficking, excluding essential campaigns for informing and protecting victims of domestic violence.
The draft aims to expand the CNA's recommendations for social campaigns carried out by NGOs and humanitarian appeals. Gorghiu emphasizes the importance of these campaigns for vulnerable communities, mentioning that an appropriate legislative framework is necessary to protect human dignity and combat violence. It is also proposed that the CNA adopt clear criteria for these recommendations, thus ensuring better public information.
