Marius Voineag, chief prosecutor of the DNA, expressed surprise at the low number of reports received from ANAF, only four in 2024, given that the DNA has opened between 1,800 and 2,000 cases annually. In the last two years, the DNA has brought charges against approximately 70 individuals from ANAF and Customs, with damages ranging from 18 to 96 million lei. Voineag emphasized the importance of improving collaboration between institutions to combat tax evasion.
