Severe flooding in the Eastern Cape has killed 90 people, including 30 children, and left thousands homeless. President Cyril Ramaphosa blamed climate change for the disaster, saying floodwaters had risen over four meters in some areas. The town of Mthatha was worst affected and rescue teams are continuing the search for missing victims. This already impoverished region is facing widespread damage to infrastructure due to heavy rains.
