Dani Mocanu and his brother, convicted for attempted murder, brought from Italy, announces the Romanian Police

The manele singer Dani Mocanu and his brother, Ionuț Nando Mocanu, were brought to Romania on Friday by an escort from the Romanian Police to serve their prison sentences after being convicted of attempted murder.

"The police are bringing into the country two men, aged 33 and 36, from Argeș County, wanted internationally for committing the crimes of attempted murder and disturbing public order and peace. They are being brought from Italy, having been issued, by the Argeș Tribunal, prison sentences of 4 and 7 years, respectively. The individuals in question are to be placed in detention facilities for the execution of the warrants," the Romanian Police statement shows.

The two were apprehended in the province of Naples, Italy, on November 10, 2025, after evading the execution of their sentences.

Dani Mocanu received a four-year sentence, while his brother received a seven-year sentence, both for assaults committed in 2022.

The Romanian Police issued European arrest warrants in their names, and they are now to be taken to detention facilities to serve their sentences.
