Cristian Mungiu has become the 10th director to win two Palme d'Or awards, recently obtaining this prestigious trophy at Cannes for the film 'Fjord'. The Ministry of Culture announced that the film will receive support as part of the campaign for the Oscars, being included on the list of strategic cultural projects. The interim Minister of Culture, Demeter Andras, communicated through a Facebook post that Order no. 2621 from March 26 has been amended to include the film 'Fjord' in the competition for the Oscar. Actress Ana Bodea, part of the film's cast, expressed the team's excitement upon receiving the award, highlighting the passion with which they worked on the project. Film critic Irina Margareta Nistor mentioned the challenges faced by Mungiu in making this film, based on the true drama of the Bodnariu family from Norway. Mungiu thus returns to the official competition at Cannes with the same artistic courage that previously earned him several international awards.
