A scandal has erupted at the national television, where Adriana Săftoiu, the new president of TVR, raised the issue of salary increases granted by Dan Turturică, the former president-general director, in November.

These increases, considered a custom at the end of the term, were granted to employees in departments such as audit, technical, legal, and human resources, not in the editorial area. Sources indicate that over 50 employees benefited from significant salary increases, in the context where TVR is facing financial difficulties.

Turturică responded to the critics, stating that the salary increases were a necessary reward to motivate employees, considering the underfunding of the institution. He mentioned that he provided a viewpoint, but it was not published in full by the new management.
