The National Health Insurance House (CNAS) intends to change the way funds are allocated for medical analyses, providing patients access to reimbursed tests throughout the month, not just on certain days. This reform comes with stricter rules, as patients will need a referral that is harder to obtain and will be scheduled based on the conditions they suffer from.
The plan includes reorganizing the basic package, which includes approximately one hundred tests, prioritizing patients who require a rapid diagnosis. Additionally, CNAS aims to extend this measure to imaging investigations, such as CT and MRI. The president of CNAS, university conf. dr. Horațiu Moldovan, emphasized that the caps at the analysis laboratories will be removed, allowing patients to have access to diagnostic services in real-time, thus correcting the dysfunctions of the current system.
