The National Health Insurance House (CNAS) has communicated that the granting of sick leave is the sole responsibility of the attending physician, based on an objective assessment of the patient's health. Following accusations by the Minister of Health that more than one million leaves were issued under suspicious conditions, the CNAS reiterates that patients must present the certificate of insurance and that employers must check the accuracy of the certificates. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in significant fines.
