The CNAS emphasizes that the decision to grant sick leave belongs to the attending physician, not to the patients' requests, which are not a valid criterion.

The National Health Insurance House (CNAS) states that the attending physician decides on the granting of sick leave based on the patient's state of health. Patients' requests cannot influence this decision. The CNAS recalls that in order to benefit from sick leave, patients must present their insurance certificate. Employers are obliged to check that the certificates are correct and failure to do so can result in fines. The health minister has announced checks to verify the issuance of sick-leave certificates, as he suspects that one million such certificates were issued last year.
