Valentin Jucan, the vice president of the National Audiovisual Council (CNA), announced that the institution will request President Nicușor Dan to include media education in the National Defense Strategy of the country. Jucan highlighted that disinformation represents a serious threat, describing it as a "silent weapon" that affects minds and national cohesion. He emphasized that citizens, from children to adults, are constantly exposed to false and manipulative information, which can influence choices and weaken institutions. Jucan stated that media education is essential for protecting society and strengthening democracy, being a necessary "shield" against manipulation. This request from the CNA comes in a context where disinformation is becoming increasingly prevalent.
