<p>The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Interior, Bogdan Despescu, has announced that, so far, eight gendarmes and three policemen have signed contracts with security companies that have been active in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Checks are ongoing and three referrals have already been made to the prosecutor's office. Legal measures, including possible criminal prosecutions, will be taken depending on the results. The Ministry of National Defense has also announced that 466 reservists have signed similar contracts, and seven active servicemen have carried out unjustified activities in Congo.
