The new fares for public transport in Bucharest, published in the Official Gazette, will come into force in about two weeks. Joint trips with the metro and surface transport will increase by 40%, so that the price of a single trip will reach 7 lei and the fare for 10 trips will be 59 lei. Season tickets will also see an increase, with the monthly metro pass rising from 100 to 160 lei. For the time being, the price of surface transport fares remains unchanged, but a possible increase is being considered.
