On February 17, at 8:00 PM, Bucharest will enter an orange code, announcing an extremely cold night, with snow and blizzards. The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) forecasts a continuous cooling until morning, with mixed precipitation, including rain, sleet, and snow. During the night, a snow layer of 20-35 cm is expected to accumulate, and the amounts of water will vary between 25-40 l/m².
The wind will intensify the blizzard, with gusts of 50-70 km/h, reducing visibility. The maximum temperature will be 2-3 degrees, and the minimum around -1 degree. The orange code is valid until February 18, at 12:00 PM. ANM warns that the snow will continue in the following days, with a total snow layer of 25-45 cm. The Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) has issued recommendations to protect the population against these severe weather conditions.
