The Brăila Local Council unanimously adopted a resolution on Monday that prohibits gambling within the municipality.

Mayor Marian Dragomir stated that the adoption of the resolution was a challenge due to the significant financial interests in this sector.

Gambling halls with valid licenses will be able to operate until their expiration, without the possibility of extension. The mayor added that most licenses will gradually expire by the end of this year and the beginning of next year, thus marking the end of slot-machine gambling activities in Brăila.
