The police from the Bacău County Police Inspectorate have reported a new method of fraud, especially targeting elderly individuals. The scammers present themselves as neighbors and offer food products for sale, but the bags contain other products of lesser value.

A victim, an 83-year-old woman from Comănești, was deceived into paying 850 lei for fish and chicken, later discovering that she received different species and smaller quantities. Following investigations, the police identified a car with two men from Galați and a woman, who had 70 kilograms of fish and 20 kilograms of chicken in the vehicle. They were detained for 24 hours, being accused of fraud, after having also deceived another elderly woman from the locality with a loss of 1,300 lei.
