The National Authority for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has adopted new regulations through the Order amending the Electricity Supply Regulation, which aims at the functioning of energy communities.
Suppliers are required to notify consumers when they reach 80% of the estimated monthly consumption, thus providing an alert that allows for consumption adjustment. Additionally, ANRE requires suppliers to provide customers with free online accounts, which will be available until October 1, 2026. These accounts will offer access to detailed consumption data, invoices, and payment history.
The regulations introduce clear definitions for key concepts and establish strict transparency requirements regarding early termination fees. ANRE emphasizes that these measures are intended to protect consumers and ensure the efficient functioning of energy communities, facilitating access to information and services tailored to customer needs.
