The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) announced on Thursday that it has imposed fines totaling 30,000 lei for advertising panels with anti-C-section messages in Bucharest. These measures were taken after representatives of the entities involved in the design, financing, and dissemination of these messages did not respond to ANPC's requests for relevant information.

ANPC intervened quickly, considering that advertising messages can influence consumer decisions, and checks were carried out to assess their compliance with current legislation. In the absence of representatives from the targeted entity, a contravention report was drawn up.

The Bucharest City Hall announced that all advertising companies have agreed to remove the respective panels, and the College of Physicians in Romania criticized the messages as being scientifically unfounded. The president of ANPC has initiated procedures to identify the entities involved in this advertising campaign.
