The National Administration of Penitentiaries (ANP) has announced that it was targeted by a ransomware cyber attack on several workstations and servers.
The institution's IT team has requested support from the National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC), and the affected equipment has been isolated to limit the impact. At the same time, the ANP will file a complaint with DIICOT, while specialists are working on remedying the incident and investigating the attack.
As a precautionary measure, several services have been temporarily shut down, including IMS Web, Infokiosk, phone services for individuals deprived of liberty, the visit scheduling portal, VPN connections, and the institution's website.
Additionally, transfers of individuals deprived of liberty have been suspended, with only exceptional situations to be managed on a case-by-case basis until the functionality of the IT systems is restored.
