The National Administration Apele Române (ANAR) clarified that the video images appearing on social media regarding the Paltinu dam in Prahova County do not signal a malfunction, but rather a normal technical behavior for the winter period. ANAR specialists observed a uniform flow of water, without signs of technical problems, and the concrete shows no cracks or leaks. The vertical traces of moisture observed are the result of warm water coming into contact with cold concrete, a normal phenomenon that disappears once the area dries. ANAR emphasized that monitoring of the dam shows normal values, without infiltrations or deformations, confirming that the structure operates under safe conditions. This clarification comes in the context where tens of thousands of residents from Prahova and Dâmbovița have been left without drinking water due to works on the reservoir.
