Minister Alexandru Nazare announced on Friday a major reform of ANAF, which includes the dismantling of some tax offices and the relocation of employees to improve the efficiency of the institution. The reform, carried out together with the president of ANAF, Adrian Nica, aims to digitize services, combat tax evasion, and increase revenue collection for the state budget. Nazare emphasized that ANAF cannot remain an inefficient institution and that a change in logic is necessary, moving from a dispersed bureaucratic presence to measurable operational efficiency.
Following recent inspections, complex networks of companies involved in tax fraud were identified, highlighting the need for reorganization. ANAF will send teams to the field to ensure assistance to local communities, without leaving localities without services. The reform also aims to attract young professionals to the tax administration, to ensure the long-term success of the reform. The ultimate goal is a modern, fair, and transparent ANAF, capable of collecting efficiently and reducing tax evasion.
