The former head of DIICOT, Alina Bica, has definitively escaped the 4-year prison sentence, after the Bucharest Court of Appeal decided that she has already served it in full. The court annulled the European arrest and execution warrants issued in 2019, and Bica, who is in Italy, is benefiting from probation measures instead of incarceration. The decision is final and all international prosecution procedures have been officially ceased.
