The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the delivery of 121 ambulances to the Ambulance Services in the country and SMURD by the end of this year, with a delivery deadline of December 24, 2025. Additionally, another 470 ambulances will be distributed by June 2026. The distribution will be made according to a unified plan, taking into account the age of the vehicle fleet, the number of interventions, and the available crews. The most ambulances will arrive in Bucharest-Ilfov (64), followed by Constanța (23) and Prahova (21), while the counties of Covasna, Ialomița, and Tulcea will each receive 8. USR Deputy Monica Berescu highlighted the issues faced by the Iași County Ambulance Service, which urgently needs new ambulances, as many of its vehicles are currently worn out.
