A previously unknown work by the artist Banksy, titled 'Girl with Balloon in a Found Landscape', will be auctioned on May 20 in New York, with an estimated valuation of 18 million dollars (approximately 15 million euros). The auction will take place at the Tiffany & Co. store on Fifth Avenue and will be organized by the auction house Fair Warning. This work combines famous elements from the 'Girl with Balloon' series and the rare 'Crude Oil' series, inspired by a graffiti created in London in 2002. 'Girl with Balloon' was voted the most popular artwork in the UK in 2017 and gained notoriety in 2018 when a similar work self-destructed at Sotheby's. The record for a painting sold at auction in Germany is 20 million euros, set by Max Beckmann's 'Yellow-Pink Self-Portrait'. Banksy's identity remains unknown, although Robin Gunningham is considered a possible candidate.
