Tom Cruise officially returns to the role of Maverick in "Top Gun 3". The film is in the preparation stage, according to Paramount Pictures.

Paramount Pictures has officially confirmed that the third film in the "Top Gun" series, with Tom Cruise in the role of pilot Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, is in preparation. The announcement was made by Paramount Films co-president, Josh Greenstein, at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where he mentioned that the script is in an "advanced stage".

The first film, released in 1986, propelled Tom Cruise's career, and the 2022 sequel generated $1.5 billion in global box office revenue. Although Cruise was not present at the event, he appeared in a video, expressing his optimism for the future.
