The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will organize a retrospective dedicated to the Oscar-winning director, Christopher Nolan, this summer. The program, titled "Christopher Nolan: Grand Designs", will include 12 films, including Oppenheimer, Dunkirk, Tenet, and Interstellar, which will be screened in the Lightbox theaters in July and August. The retrospective will begin with Tenet on July 9 and will conclude with Dunkirk, which will be presented in 70mm format on August 20.
Oppenheimer, which had a significant impact on Toronto's cinema in 2023, will be screened on July 18, alongside other famous Nolan films such as The Right Stuff, The Prestige, Memento, Inception, and Insomnia. Additionally, Nolan's Batman trilogy will also be included in the program.
This retrospective coincides with the release of his latest film, The Odyssey, which will hit theaters on July 17. The Odyssey is an adaptation of the ancient Greek epic by Homer, featuring Matt Damon as King Odysseus, who returns home after the Trojan War. The film will also star renowned actors such as Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, and Robert Pattinson.
