The movie 'The Resurrection of Christ' will continue the story of 'The Passion of the Christ', focusing on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The first part will be released on March 26, 2027 and the second on May 6, 2027. The screenplay, written with Randall Wallace, has not been detailed, but director Mel Gibson has described the project as an 'acid trip'. Jim Caviezel will reprise the role of Jesus Christ, having been digitally rejuvenated. The first movie had a significant impact, generating controversy as well as big box office.
